ELEVATE NORTH NASHVILLE CDC TO HOST INAUGURAL GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY MARKING A NEW ERA OF COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT IN NORTH NASHVILLE

Returning to Restore: A Ceremony Rooted in Faith, Global Leadership, and Community Vision

Elevate North Nashville Community Development Corporation (ENN/CDC), the new charitable redevelopment arm of The House of God Church, will host its inaugural groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 9am 2608 Scovel Street Nashville, TN 37208 (parking at The House of God Church, 2714 Scovel St.) This milestone marks the launch of ENN/CDC’s long-term commitment to people-first redevelopment, whole-family wellness, and economic uplift across North Nashville with a master plan with the potential for over 60 apartments, 41 townhouses and duplexes, 44,600 retail space, and 200+ parking spaces across the multi-property development.  The inaugural event will bring together faith leaders, elected officials, community partners, and residents to celebrate a historic step toward transformative community investment.

"A groundbreaking ceremony kicks off the start of construction. It's the first official step in bringing a project to life. With hard hats, shovels, and speeches, this event turns a patch of dirt into a stage for vision, excitement, and community pride," Bishop Tammy Butler, Chief Helper & Business Manager.

This new community reinvestment organization is building faith, building impact, and building futures for North Nashville. This historic milestone marks the first of over 50 transformational reinvestment projects the CDC plans to develop along the Historic Jefferson Street corridor. The project is poised to strengthen affordable housing for families, expand access to resources, and uplift communities across North Nashville over the next decade. A 2025 National Community Reinvestment Coalition study ranked Nashville as the most intensely gentrifying U.S. city between 2010 and 2020 when looking at indicators like rising incomes, home values, and demographic turnover in historically low-income neighborhoods.

“As the global headquarters of The House of God Church, our return to invest in North Nashville is both a spiritual mandate and a generational commitment. This community has carried our history, our worship, and our hope. We reaffirm that we remain One Church, One Faith, One Family, moving toward One Future—rooted here, yet reaching the world,” said Bishop Dr. Clary K. Butler, Sr., Senior Bishop & Chief Overseer.

Elevate North Nashville is committed to leading development that prioritizes people beyond the development. Advancing social economic impact in housing, food access, early family development, senior support, transportation assistance, workforce development, community wellness, and long-term neighborhood reinvestment. This inaugural groundbreaking represents the official launch of a committed mission to elevate North Nashville.
